Avery Kalitta Signs with Racing Louisville FC

Avery Kalitta has signed with Racing Louisville FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). After signing a short-term contract earlier this season, Avery now extends that signing for the remainder of the year. This signing marks the beginning of her professional career following a successful collegiate career with the Michigan Wolverines!

Kalitta was a cornerstone of the Wolverines’ team throughout her four seasons in the maize and blue, a consistent performer and leader on the pitch. She appeared in a total of 78 matches, starting in 63 of them, including her last 60 games straight. In her senior year, Kalitta was one of only 2 players to start all 18 games, logging a team leading 1,570 minutes, thanks to her playing the full 90 minutes in 16 games throughout the season. 

As a midfielder Kalitta was great on both sides of the ball, tallying 1 goal and 3 assists throughout her time in Michigan. Her lone goal came when it mattered most, in a match against Toledo in her sophomore season that would go on to be the game winning goal, she also tallied an assist in this match. Her play on both offense and defense were key to her team’s success throughout her career. Kalitta’s play was recognized on multiple occasions, leading to her being named to both the All-Big Ten freshman team in 2021 and the All-Big Ten third team in 2023. 

After signing a short-term contract with Louisville earlier this season, Avery made the matchday roster twice for games against Bay FC and Chicago Starsand is working to make her first professional appearance. With Kalitta’s work ethic and experience from her time with the Wolverines, she could be a key piece with Racing Louisville FC in the future.
