OPSM is proud to announce the signing of Taylor Marie Hamlett (May 26, 2002), a player whose journey to the professional game has been defined by resilience, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to growth.
Taylor’s path has been anything but straightforward. Throughout her career, she faced personal challenges, including struggles with anxiety and an eating disorder, which at times required her to step away from the game and reassess her relationship with sport. Like many athletes, much of her identity was closely tied to soccer, and learning who she was beyond the field became one of the most important chapters of her development.
Rather than allowing those experiences to define her, Taylor used them as an opportunity to grow. Today, she is a strong advocate for mental wellness, balance, and healthy living in sport. She believes that prioritizing both physical and mental health has not only strengthened her as a person but has also deepened her connection to the game. Her journey has given her a greater appreciation for the privilege of competing and a renewed perspective on what it means to be an athlete.
There was a point when Taylor nearly walked away from soccer altogether. In search of a fresh opportunity, she transferred to the University of Miami (Ohio), where she found an environment that reignited her passion for the game. Most importantly, she found coaches who believed in her potential and invested in her development both on and off the field. That support proved to be a turning point, helping her rebuild confidence and continue pursuing her goals at the highest level.
Her collegiate career was marked by adversity. Taylor battled injuries and consistently had to earn her place in highly competitive environments. Often fighting for opportunities and roster spots, she relied on her relentless work ethic and determination to continue progressing. Teammates and coaches frequently described her as “crazy” for the standards she held herself to and the lengths she was willing to go in pursuit of improvement—a reputation she embraced. That mindset became one of the defining characteristics of her game and a driving force behind her success.
Today, Taylor is living the dream she worked tirelessly to achieve. Competing professionally with Fram in Iceland, she has embraced both the football culture and the unique lifestyle that comes with playing abroad. What began as a professional opportunity has evolved into a genuine appreciation for a country she has grown to love deeply.
Taylor is currently enjoying an outstanding season with Fram, establishing herself as a key contributor to the club’s success. Through 10Â appearances, she has recorded 83 goals and 3 assists, consistently impacting matches and helping drive the team’s performances throughout the campaign.
Taylor’s story is a testament to resilience, self-belief, and the power of perseverance. Her journey serves as a reminder that success is rarely linear, and that growth often comes through the challenges that test us most.
OPSM is excited to welcome Taylor to the agency and looks forward to supporting her continued success both on and off the field as she enters the next chapter of her professional career.
